Exterior cleaning in North Wales, from a North Wales base

North Wales gives buildings a harder time than almost anywhere else we work. The coastal belt from Flintshire through Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno takes salt-laden wind straight off the Irish Sea, while inland and upland properties towards Ruthin, Mold and the Clwydian range take some of the highest rainfall in the country.

The stock is distinctive too: rendered and pebbledashed houses along the coast, Welsh slate roofs almost everywhere, stone cottages and farmhouses inland, Victorian seaside terraces and hotels, and modern estates around the larger towns.

We cover the region from our Cheshire base via Chester, working on planned routes with fixed itemised pricing and no travel surcharge. The van-mounted system is self-contained, which matters on rural and coastal sites where supplies can be limited.

How quickly we reach North Wales

North Wales assessments are normally arranged within a week and scheduled into a planned route through the region, with holiday-let and commercial changeover deadlines prioritised.

What we know about North Wales

  • Areas we cover in North Wales

Flintshire and Wrexham along the border, Deeside, Mold, Ruthin and the Vale of Clwyd, and the coastal belt through Prestatyn, Rhyl, Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Conwy.

  • Property types in North Wales

Coastal rendered and pebbledashed houses, Victorian seaside terraces, hotels and guest houses, Welsh slate roofs across all ages of stock, stone cottages and farmhouses inland, and modern estates around Mold, Wrexham and Deeside.

  • What North Wales clients call us for most

Render and pebbledash soft washing, slate roof moss treatment, gutter clearance, driveway and patio cleaning, and holiday-let and hospitality cleaning between seasons.

  • Seasonal and holiday-let work

Coastal hospitality and holiday-let owners generally want the exterior reset before the season. We schedule that work in advance so it lands ahead of the first bookings, not during them.

Why Us

Why North Wales clients choose us.

Self-contained equipment

Van-mounted hot water at 3,500–4,000 PSI and up to 120°C with its own heating and water capacity: practical on rural, coastal and upland sites.

Experienced with slate and render

The two defining North Wales surfaces, and both easily ruined by pressure. We treat rather than blast.

Scheduled around your season

Holiday lets, guest houses and hotels are booked in ahead of the season so the work never clashes with occupancy.

Fixed pricing, no travel surcharge

Priced by surface, size and condition after a survey, with photographs before and after.

Local Conditions

What damages exteriors in North Wales.

Salt-laden coastal air

Salt penetrates render, pebbledash and porous stone, then crystallises within the surface and breaks it up from the inside while corroding fixings and fasteners. Thorough, controlled rinsing is as important as the cleaning itself here.

Exceptional rainfall and wind-driven wet

Driving rain on exposed elevations forces water into any open joint, crack or failed pointing. High-pressure cleaning on such a wall makes that worse, not better.

Welsh slate and moss in the laps

Moss establishing between slate courses holds water against the roof and lifts the laps. Scraping cracks slates and disturbs nails; biocidal treatment is the safer route.

Pebbledash and roughcast

Textured coastal finishes hold spores and dirt in every recess and lose pebbles instantly under a pressure lance. They need low pressure, correct chemistry and dwell time.

Our Process

Five steps, agreed before we start.

01

Survey & fixed quote

We assess each surface, identify the material and its condition, and issue an itemised fixed price before anything is booked.

02

Protection & set-up

Planting, joinery and drainage protected, access and hose routes planned, and run-off controlled before a drop of water is used.

03

Correct method per surface

Hot water at up to 120°C and rotary cleaning on hard paving; low-pressure soft washing with surface-safe chemistry on render, historic brick and delicate stone.

04

Reinstatement

Block paving re-sanded, gutters flushed and checked, and optional sealing applied where it genuinely adds life to the surface.

05

Inspection & photographs

We walk the job with you where possible, leave the site clean, and supply before-and-after photographs of every surface.

In Detail

North Wales in depth.

Why coastal North Wales finishes fail so quickly

Three forces act at once on a North Wales coastal property. Wind-driven rain saturates elevations repeatedly through the year, so nothing dries. Salt aerosol deposits on and within the surface, and each wetting and drying cycle grows salt crystals inside the pore structure, spalling render, pebbledash and stone from within. And mild, humid conditions support continuous algal and lichen growth on every north and west-facing surface. Cleaning has to address the biology without accelerating the physical damage, which rules out high pressure on rendered and roughcast finishes entirely. Our specification is a low-pressure soft wash with correctly diluted, surface-safe chemistry, full dwell time and a controlled, thorough rinse that flushes salts and residue out rather than driving them further in.

North Wales and our wider coverage

We reach North Wales through Chester, covering Flintshire, Wrexham, Deeside, Mold and the Vale of Clwyd, and along the coast to Prestatyn, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Conwy. The same Cheshire base covers Chester, Tarporley, Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, so cross-border clients deal with a single operator.

Questions

North Wales questions, answered.

Do you cover North Wales?

Yes: Flintshire, Wrexham, Deeside, Mold, Ruthin and the coastal belt through Prestatyn, Rhyl, Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Conwy.

How quickly can you reach North Wales?

Assessments are usually arranged within a week and scheduled into a planned route through the region. Seasonal and commercial deadlines are prioritised.

Is there a travel charge into Wales?

No. Pricing is based on the surfaces, their size and their condition.

What does exterior cleaning cost in North Wales?

Fixed and itemised per surface after a survey, agreed in writing before work starts.

Can you clean pebbledash without losing the pebbles?

Yes: by soft washing. Pebbledash and roughcast must never be pressure washed; low pressure with correct chemistry and dwell time is what cleans them safely.

Is it safe to clean a Welsh slate roof?

Yes, with biocidal treatment rather than mechanical scraping. Scraping cracks slates and disturbs fixings, which then leak.

Do you work on holiday lets and guest houses?

Regularly. We schedule ahead of the season or around changeovers so occupancy is never disrupted.

Do you need site water and power?

No. Our van-mounted system is self-contained, which suits rural and coastal properties.

Is emergency attendance available?

Urgent issues such as blocked gutters and slip hazards are prioritised, usually within a few working days depending on routing.

Are you insured and DBS checked?

Yes to both, for residential and commercial work in Wales as in England.
